Choose the part of the lake first
Center Hill Lake’s commercial marinas serve different parts of a long reservoir. Do not select one only because its rental price looks attractive. Compare its location with your lodging, the water you want to explore and the drive home afterward.
Start with the official sites for Hurricane Marina, Center Hill Marina, Edgar Evins Marina and Sligo Marina. Fleets, restaurants, fuel and seasonal hours change.
Pontoon · Tritoon · Slide boat · PWC
Match the vessel to the crew
A standard pontoon suits relaxed cruising and smaller groups. A tritoon may offer more power and stability for larger groups or towing. Double-decker slide boats trade simplicity for size and operating responsibility. Personal watercraft demand constant attention and strict rule compliance.
Confirm capacity, age restrictions, towing permissions, fuel policy, deposit, cancellation terms and required arrival time directly with the rental operator.
Education · PFDs · No-wake · Sober operator
Know the law before the checklist
Boater-education requirements depend on residency, age and vessel. Life-jacket, child-PFD, towing and no-wake requirements are enforceable safety rules, not marina suggestions.
Use the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency boating pages for current law and education requirements. Rental staff instructions do not replace the operator’s responsibility.
Weather · Fuel · Communication · Return time
Prepare for a real lake
Check weather and alerts, save emergency information, carry properly fitting PFDs, protect phones and bring more drinking water than seems necessary. Cell service can weaken in steep coves.
Understand the fuel and return policy before departure. Allow time to refuel and unload without rushing at the end of the rental window.
Ramp · Trailer · Parking · Paved access
Bringing your own boat
Confirm that the launch suits your vessel and current water level. Inspect the trailer, lights, plug, straps and fuel before leaving home. At the ramp, stage gear away from the launch lane and move the vehicle promptly after launch.
