Kitchen · Coffee · Linens · Connectivity
What The Little Lake House already provides
The house has a full kitchen with cookware, dishes and basic meal-preparation equipment; both Keurig and drip coffee makers; bed linens and indoor bath towels; hair dryers; washer and dryer; fast fiber Wi‑Fi; Roku televisions; a printer and dedicated workspace.
It also provides the hot tub, grill, fire pit area, deck seating, hammock, board games and arcade. Those amenities reduce what you need to transport, but consumable starter supplies should not be treated as unlimited provisions for a long stay.
Lake towels · Water shoes · Sun and dry storage
Pack for the water separately
- Lake or beach towels: keep indoor bath linens out of boats, ramps and shoreline mud.
- Water shoes: useful around rock, ramps and uneven shoreline.
- Sun protection: sunscreen, hats and sunglasses; reflection increases exposure.
- Dry storage: a dry bag or sealed pouch for phones, keys and medication.
- Reusable water bottles and a small cooler: rural outings often outlast the nearest easy purchase.
Footing · Weather · Signal loss
Pack for trails and waterfalls
- Sturdy shoes with reliable wet-surface traction
- Breathable layers and a light rain shell
- Water, snacks and any essential medication
- Offline directions or screenshots of the route
- A small first-aid kit and insect repellent
Heat · Fast changes · Cool evenings
Pack by season, not optimism
Warm months: prioritize hydration, sun protection, swim gear and a dry change of clothes. Spring and fall: use layers; mornings, shaded trails and evenings can feel unlike the afternoon. Winter: check road and trail conditions and bring warm layers that still work when damp.
Bring a light outdoor layer even during warm seasons if you expect to sit on the deck or around the fire after dark.
Stock before the final road · Do not assume late options
Food, prescriptions and personal systems
Buy the first breakfast, drinks and any essential groceries before settling in. Keep prescriptions, mobility equipment, infant supplies and pet necessities with you rather than assuming a small-town late-night replacement will be easy.
If you plan to grill, verify fuel and current property instructions. If you plan a special meal, bring the one specialized tool or ingredient you know you cannot substitute.
Use Sourcing Local when regional food is part of the experience and Stock Up and Gear Up for practical stops.
