Settle the legal and safety basics
Use TWRA’s current fishing information and regulations to confirm licensing, species rules, limits and location-specific restrictions before arrival. Carry a properly fitted personal flotation device for every person and treat cold water, wind and lightning as trip-changing conditions.
Use The Angler’s Guide for the fuller lake and species context.

Choose launch access for the water you will fish
The Little Lake House is a practical fishing base because nearby Puckett Point provides public launch access, but it is not a private slip, marina or guaranteed trailer space. Confirm the property’s parking arrangement for your particular rig. A large reservoir punishes casual geography. Select the ramp or marina for the intended arm, confirm water-level suitability and know where the tow vehicle and trailer can turn and park. Check the Corps’ Center Hill recreation information and the launch operator for current access.
If bringing a rig, read Bringing a Boat or Trailer. For a simple public option, understand the limitations in the Puckett’s Point field note.

Friday: arrive ready for the first light
Buy fuel, bait, ice, breakfast and lunch before the final rural roads. Charge approved equipment using the host’s designated outlet and safe manufacturer instructions; confirm trailer parking and turnaround before arrival. Stage rods, tackle, layers and rain gear without blocking access, and save the forecast and map offline. Do not make the first morning depend on a shop opening exactly when expected.

Saturday: fish the useful windows
Plan breakfast before launch, pack water and lunch, and keep a dry layer available. Use local current knowledge for depth, pattern and presentation. Protect the early window, come off the water when heat or storms build, and make an evening return optional rather than obligatory. A shower, meal and equipment reset at the house are part of the plan—not evidence that the fishing day failed.
One last session · Safe pack-out
Sunday: shorten the ambition
Fish a familiar area, return with margin and inspect the boat and trailer before the drive home. A final hour is not worth rushing the ramp, weather or checkout.
